Terms of service

Draft text. This page has not been reviewed by a qualified person yet and will change before launch. Do not rely on it as legal advice.

1. Who we are

Dublio is a service of Cubexic, called "we" below. [legal name, address, registration and VAT number]. By creating an account or using app.dublio.org you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Dublio takes a video you upload, writes a transcript, translates it, creates a synthetic voice for the translation and gives you files: a dubbed video, subtitles (SRT), a dub-only MP3 and a podcast-style audio file. You can edit the translation before the voice is made.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google or with an email address and password. You must give a real email address, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and be at least [minimum age, to be confirmed] years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person.

4. Minutes and payment

5. Limits

A video can be up to 60 minutes and a file up to the size the app accepts. You can process one video at a time. We may change these limits and will show the current ones in the app.

6. Your content

You keep all rights to the videos you upload and to the results. You give us permission to process them only to run the service for you. This includes sending the audio and text to the providers listed in the privacy policy.

You promise that you own the content or have the right to dub it, and that you may share any voices and words in it. Do not upload content that is illegal, that sexually exploits anyone, or that infringes someone else's rights.

The same goes for background music, logos and any other file you add to a project. Only add music, images or other material that you own or have the right to use in the way you use it (for example, in a video you publish). When you add a file you confirm this in the app. You are responsible for it, including any claim a rights holder makes about a video you publish with it. We may remove such files and close accounts that repeatedly add material they have no right to.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Dublio to deceive people, to impersonate a real person, to produce harassing or hateful content, to break the law, or to attack or overload the service. If you publish a dubbed video, tell your audience that the voice is synthetic wherever the law or the platform requires it. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

8. Results are machine-made

Transcripts, translations and voices are produced by software and can be wrong, awkward or offensive by accident. We do not promise any level of accuracy, speed or quality. Check the result before you publish it. You are responsible for what you publish.

9. Availability and storage

We try to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available. Projects are deleted automatically 14 days after you last used them, or 30 days if you have bought minutes, so download your results and keep your originals. Do not use Dublio as the only copy of your files.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect damage or lost profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not affect your rights as a consumer.

11. Ending the relationship

You can stop using Dublio at any time and delete your projects or your account in the app. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms. Unused paid minutes: [treatment on closure to be decided].

12. Changes, law and contact

We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. These terms are governed by the laws of [country], and disputes go to the courts of [place], unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise. Questions: cubex@cubex.nl.
